I have decided not to use a water pump on my TT and was thinking of selling it but I'm not sure how much to ask. I don't want to try and rip anyone off, but I'd also like to make anything I can. I know they aren't worth anything to some people so how about an honest average answer? The brand is Climax.
Sean,
Your a brave man.....
I may get burned but I like to ask questions!
Will also make a great doorstop or stocking stuffer.
Why not just put it on Ebay and see what it brings?
Here are current ebay listings. $25 to $50 or more
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p3872.m570.l1313&_nkw=model+t+waterpump&_ sacat=0&_from=R40
But a greater price range for those that did sell
http://www.ebay.com/csc/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=model+t+waterpump&LH_Comp lete=1&rt=nc
So around $10 sounds about right. Anyone want to trade for a water inlet connection?
Thanks Dave
That was fun looking at all those different pumps for the Ford.
Ya know, when there are many, many, many different devices made and sold to perform this function, means that there wasn't ever a satisfactory device perfected....to me that just shows the Ford thermosyphon cooling, the original way, is what works best
Sean, The waterpumps I took off my T's I gave to my friendly parts supplier. I live in a mobile home park (that's right, "trailer trash") so I can't have a scrap iron pile just laying out in the middle of my rented lot. He promised me he wouldn't give it to anyone else if I'd give him five dollars to take it.
I think it would make a cool fountain in the yard.
Sean Gregory:
I would be glad to trade a water inlet for the water pump!

What its worth is what a seller will pay for it if neither buyer or seller are under duress.
Best thing is to put it on ebay auction style. I often set an original bid of $10 or so just because its not worth my time to box and ship for less.
You might get 0 or $10 or perhaps much more if its that last piece to complete someone's collection (I wouldn't count on the "much more" though.
If your desparate to reclaim the storage space in your garage, as I usually am, any price would be a good deal!
Good luck

All accessory water pumps are not equal - some brands are more of a problem than a help. The Climax brand (just as the similar Impeller brand) has often been mentioned on the forum as a pump that really works when trying to postpone replacing a marginal radiator.

I have a couple water pumps sitting now. Dan has offered to cut them in half for me, but I think I will keep them intact (and probably sitting). I would consider providing housing for a few more if someone is looking for a home for them. I would probably pay postage.
Drive carefully, and enjoy the Holidays! W2
The Climax pump will allow water to circulate when the fan belt breaks.
