Hi all! I installed the cam with the timing marks lined up.when i turn the engine over, the piston is at the top and both valves are closed when the mark on the large gear is at the 11 o'clock position.is this correct? thanks. ken timing

It's a four cycle engine.

That's fine, if you want the marks to line up with #1 at TDC, rotate the cam gear 180 degrees.

As long as you put the timing marks together when assembled it all works.
