I acquired this today:

Here is a 1916 Ad from the Farm Journal:
http://books.google.com/books?id=TyxHAAAAYAAJ&dq=%22good%20year%22%20%22tire%20saver%20kit%22&pg=PA412#v=onepage&q=%22good%20year%22%20%22tire%20saver%20kit%22&f=false

I see I am missing:
-a couple of more cans of tire putty
-Inside Protector
-tube of French Talc
-tire pressure gauge plus valve stuff

But still a very neat item I believe is WWI era from 1916-1918.

Anyone ever see one of these?

I think baby but powder is the same as the french talc.Least that is what my dad taught me to use on inner tubes to keep them from sticking to the inside of the tire and rim.Seems to work to.

A lot of baby powder is pure corn starch.

Hey Matthew,
I think it is fake and that you should send it to me!

Okay Gus,
Yes this would look great with a WWI ambulance! I will send it to you and expect a "fake" 1:1 scale ambulance sent in return to me. I will even pay the difference in shipping.

What I wonder is why the lid over the tire putty is labeled "SERVICE."

Matthew

No one answered me. Has anyone seen one of these before?

I know this has the likely hood of encouraging more of the same
(and we all know how little encouragement that takes), but if you insist on an answer. . .

No

Art,
I really like the Canadian ad. It gives lots of details on everything that should be in the kit. Thanks so much!

And the the rest of you jokers... Who has seen one of these before? :-)

Gus maybe the guy sent you photos to see if you wanted it! Even if that is not the case you could tell him something like: "if you ever want to get rid of that let me know..."

OK Matthew, that sounds good, Do you want to get rid of it?

Hmmm - wonder what happened to the 3 ads that I posted?
The text is there but the ads haven't loaded for a couple of days.

Art,
I know I saw those ads a couple days ago? Either that, or I am in worse shape than I think I am? I have noticed that on a couple other threads including Rob H's model K thread.
And thank you for all the research and information you post. I, and I am sure many others, appreciate it.
Drive carefully, and do enjoy the holidays! W2

Art, I am glad that I printed out one of the adds you listed because now it is not coming up:-(

Gus, for now I want to keep it, since I got it as a gift:-)

Hi Matthew

Here it is again . . .

I’ve been watching to see it any will reappear, but they are still AWOL. So
thought that I would reload the big one again before the 2012 forum closes
for year end, in the hope at least the original upload or this one will survive
for searchers in the future.

Regards
Art
