Joe, there is no vent line just a small hole in the cap will do.

Joe Mears:

I think maybe you are talking about the line that goes from the top of the tank where you fill the gas. Its about 18 inches long and is held by an eye bolt It goes straight down from near the filler and vents spilled gas on the round near the carburetor. Only the 26 and 27 Ts used them. Again, its not a vent tube but is only to drain off spilled gas.

That overflow pipe can be bought at any of the T parts vendors. The pipe is curved and angled to go down from the sediment bulb on the cowl tank to the inside of the frame rail, dumps spilled gasoline around the filler to the ground.

Attached with a small set screw (B) at the bulb, and with a threaded hook fastener (A) at the cowl/firewall.

If you don't want to spend the $30 for one and have some 1/2" copper water pipe laying around, just make one. That's what I made mine out of. I soldered a coupling on the end to make it big enough on the end. It is a little too big and had to sand it down a little bit to make it fit correctly. Then put a couple small bends in it to miss the frame. Then I sanded it so paint would stick to it. If you don't tell anyone, they'll never know the difference.
