This years Holiday Motor Excursion this Sunday will be bigger and better than ever.
To accommodate the many people and vehicles, the starting point has been moved to, the fastest half mile in the west, Irwindale Speedway!
This move allows ample spectator parking, Tour participant parking as well as a
complete separate area for trucks and tow vehicles.
As always, we will still tour through Monrovia & Pasadena with a couple interesting
stops along the way.
GATES OPEN at 7:00 AM
You can go to the HCCASC website and download the entry form to save time.
See You THERE!
Checked the Wx, Gene?
I use www.weather.gov
I use weather underground. They have a reputation for high accuracy for 10's of thousands of places around the globe. You can get forecasts by the hour, even a week in advance. They're calling for partial clouds, with highs in the 50's (F) and 0% chance of rain.
I guess that I'll see you guys there. I be driving the '16 touring that you can see in my profile.
Merry X-mas!
Eric
BTW, I've already got my form filled out already...
Eric
Thanks for the update, Eric. I'll look for you.
Got my form filled as well.
Be looking forward to saying Happy Hollidays to Ya!
The HME has always been a great way to end and start the year off. Driving our T's amongst a group of fine antique autos on a sunny winters SoCal day. Interesting note... I nearly hit a deer last year on a street high above the Rosebowl. Of course no pic of that

We plan to take our '15 Touring this year
Bill, are you gonna' convoy on the 605 with Gene and me?
My '15 likes 35 MPH. We're trailering up & back. My dad plans to take the '24 Studebaker as well.
I was fortunate to be able to attend this event for a few years when I was living in SoCal. Wish I could be there again. Without a doubt, one of the best prewar car events in the country!!!!
You California guys sure are lucky!!!!
Hey, I really like that Weather Underground site, Thanks, Eric!
Ralph, What time do you want to leave this year?
Have you found a passenger yet? I invited a guy that may meet me at the racetrack but I'll ask my grandson today if he can go. He would be more than amazed seeing some of the cars that show up there, especially the steam cars.
I'll be one of the Gawkers there in the morning. See ya bright and early!
I'll be there without a car for the first time in years. Got too much going on today.
It turned out to be a nice gathering. Lots of cars I've never seen. Too many hot rods! I wish those guys would stay home.
Here's a link to the Youtube video that Cindy & I shot of the 2012 Holiday Motor Excursion today.

We did take the 1915 T Touring as well as the 1924 Studebaker Touring. There was a little rain but we made the entire trip. I was even interviewed by KABC television
Like Bill
George n L.A.
Awesome video Bill!!!!!!
I miss Southern California.
"I was even interviewed by KABC television "
Sorry, you ended up on the cutting room floor, Bill, along with all but 15 seconds of the two hours filming and interviews. I reviewed the 11pm news and the 4 and 5 am news this morning, but nada.
The HME story was squeezed out by reports of the "Wild Weather": kids in nearby La Habra Heights throwing snowballs. Yeh, it was a rare event.
Riding first with Dan Haynes, then Gene, we avoided all but a dozen drops of rain, while we drove on a lot of freshly wetted pavement.

Thanks Bill, look forward to your HME videos every year
