Went for a thirty mile drive in 26 coupe this evening through the Black Hills of South Dakota. Fresh snow, full moon, -2 degree F temp. Nothing better. Didn't like running on mag the past month so checked the voltage and it is low. I am looking for a link to giving the magnets a wakeup call while they are in the car. Have not tried this "in car" method - just remember reading about the process. If you live up north you know what I mean when I say the snow really squeaked tonight. Thanks for help in advance. Klm
Ken,

Ken, we're at 18F and it's snowing. The next time we're even forecasting below zero is Monday night. And then it shouldn't get much colder than -1F. The snow was squeaking the other night. I went out to plug the tank heater in on the car the other night and it was so cold the extension cord had shrunk at least 5 feet. Really!!!!
Thank you Jim for the information links. My wife found a compass in the toy box and the neighbor and I put it to work yesterday morning. The coupe is running great on mag again. We have driven it likely 75 miles since we spent the hour "waking up the magnets". It is headed on a run to a neighboring town this afternoon.
It is nice to have a heater in the coupe but it looks like things are going to warm up to near the freezing mark today. A real heat wave - so wouldn't be too bad without - kind of spoiled.
Mike - extension cords are not the only thing to shrink in the cold - that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
