My beloved and I will be vacationing on the big island of Hawaii from Jan 04-11. There are no chapters of either club listed for Hawaii... can anyone offer suggestions for a Model T or other vintage-auto fix during our stay? We are only on the Big Island this trip. Thanks.
I thought I remember a post a while back about an old rusted Model T outside a restaurant on the island. Someone posted a photo too. Surely someone will remember and post it here for you.
When we were in Hilo some ten years ago, I caught up with a model A coupe at a gas station in the south end of town. So there are some old Fords around! The saddle road would be a great T drive, BTW. the rental car companies tell you not to drive it, but it's just a nice country 2 lane road--maybe they think all us Howlies drive on freeways?
Also, remember: Big Island more betta & Kona side most bestest!
Oh, be sure and enjoy some White Pineapple, they don't export it!

If you don't get your head in the water with a mask on, you miss half of Hawaii. We really enjoyed the place on Kona where fresh water came down from the mountain in lava tubes. It was near a native monastery or something.
The directory lists 7 MTFCA members in Hawaii. 4 in Honolulu, 1 in Kailua, 1 in Kihei and 1 in Millani. If you pm me I can give you contact info.
Thanks for the offer Mike, but Google puts all those members on the islands of Oahu and Maui whereas we will only be on the big island of Hawaii.
David, thanks for that tip. Telling me to avoid a particular road usually has the opposite effect.
Will do, Ralph.
