Someone may have mentioned it before, but there is no kit for rebuilding the shutoffs, right?

Doug, If you mean the shutoff for a '26-'27 it
seems to be the same as a early Model A, as gleaned from an earlier thread.

there are kits available, but i found them to be a little on the "high side" www.t-parts.com,
there are usually 2 types of new units available, one is an import (about 40 bucks) and the other is a "made in the USA" (about 60 dollars). you can get them at any of the supply houses, do a search in any catalogue to find them.

Yes, this is a 26. I had heard it is better to have them not in the elbow, is that true?

I have the elbow type in both my '13, and my '25, and haven't had any problems. I've heard some people have. One I got from Don Lang, and the other I got from Russ Potter.
