Attention all you aspiring Model T ignition coil rebuilder’s.
I have four used hot plates (Hamilton Beach 750 Watt Fifth Burner) that need a new home. I use these to heat tar (Type III steep roofing asphalt) in a coffee can to repot coils after replacing the old capacitor. I have several of these and need to pass them on.
They are free to the first four persons who email me with their address and agree to reimburse me the UPS shipping costs.
Warning: If any of you convinced your wife to let you use her kitchen stove to heat a pot of tar for your first coil rebuilding soirée, I can assure you take your life in your hands trying it again. Grin.

Hi all
Sorry, the hot plates are gone.
If your still looking for one try searching ebay with key words "fifth burner" I saw a nice 1200 watt unit there today for $8.00.
Good luck

If not that, I take the top off my Sears kerosen space heater, use an old cast iron dutch oven that sits right in the top, set the heat on low. Seems to to a good job.
