Has anyone recently purchased a felt seal for the camshaft? This is the seal behind the brass timer plate and recessed in the timing gear cover. The one I received in a engine gasket pack has an inside diameter too small to go over the camshaft locking nut. Should I order another one from someone else?

Why don't you go with the new style neoprene seal? It's less likely to leak than the felt.

The old felt seal worked fine. I like to stay as original as possible.

Ken, wet the seal with oil and stretch it a little.
