In answer to one half of your specific question, a fair price to have PROPERLY rebabbitt and align reamed Model T crankshaft main bearings (only) and machine the rear main thrust surface is $300-$500. This assumes you supply a PROPERLY aligned and ground crankshaft. That's another forum question.
It is incumbent upon YOU to ask the potential supplier the correct questions. You should insist upon a GUARANTEE which any reputable shop will supply assuming proper use. If you do not get a guarantee, go elsewhere.
