I've seen mentioned many time on the forum the Watts transmission clutch. What exactly is it, what are the advantages and are there any modifications that need to be made?

I also would like some info and cant seem to see it anywhere. What is the difference with R.V. Anderson and the Watts clutch advertized in the suppliers links. I just ordered one from John Watts. So Im concerned now - is this one going to have an acceptable spring??

John; I just installed a Watts clutch in my TT and when it was set up with a 2" spring length, it was iffy. Talking with Watts he suggested I turn the adjusting screws another half or full turn.
After turning in a turn the clutch is fine.

Sincerely

The difference with "my" Watts clutch is that I sell it in kit form for convenience and a bit of savings. The kit comes with the clutch pack, the proper spring, and a machined T-3336 push ring (the 3 pins on the ring must be evenly shortened about 3/16" due to the extra thickness of the Watts clutch pack. I do this by surface grinding the ends). Complete directions are also included.

I think you mean 3/32", correct? That's what my instructions say, but mine are an old set.

The pins need to measure just about 0.900" after shortening, measuring from the bottom surface of the ring.
