We are looking for the valve spring retainer discs and pins for a Frontenac overhead valve head. We only need 8 (oddly enough that's just how many valves there are). Also does anyone have any documentation on these heads. Thanks.

You can use big block chev exhaust valves 1 7/8' diameter the length is very close also. That way you can use chev retainers and locks. If you take a sample valve into your local engine shop they should be able to get the right size for you..

Bob,
Drop me a note off-line and I'll get you touch with a "Fronty" guy.

I was on a search for replacement Fronty valves a few years ago, Lindsay, and I got lots of leads like a John Deere that turned into dead ends. Is the BB Chev this size?

Fronty R Valve 18361N = .371 x 1.875 x 5.5 overall.

I believe the S and T heads have smaller valves.

Rick.
Im not sure on the exact sizes but i had some ex valves out of some dart B/B chevy heads and they were very close in length and diameter. They may have needed turning down on head diameter i cant remember now but its nothing a good lathe operator couldnt handle. The valves in all T, S, & R heads are the same diameter 1 7/8, only the T & S heads had semi steel heads with carbon steel stem, where as the R head had valves made of tungsten steel. The only diference in all 3 heads is combustion chamber size.I will try and find my notes on part numbers of valves i used and post them later.
Lindsay..
