I just found a new set of Scandinavia linings in my friend's estate. He had purchased these in 1991 from Mac's. Would these be considered the good old stock linings?

Yes, those were the tight weave kind Cecil. Just measure the length. Originals were 23 & 1/2" long.

Yes, these should be decent. For a period of time, some efficiencey "expert" had the manufacturer cut these to the "correct" length (just long enough to fit the steel band without the extra material normally used to compress the lining during installation).

These shorter linings can be used but require you to rivet them very near the ends in order to create enough lining to form a hump at the center of the band so you can get some lining compression. If you anchor these shorter linings flush with the ends of the steel band, they will be stretched between rivets and wear out quickly.

Oops! When I said "These shorter linings can be used but require you to rivet them very near the ends" I meant you have to rivet the lining very near to the end of the lining (hopefully this is a clarification of my statement).

I wouldn't use any Scandinavia band lining made in 1991. I think it was bad by then. I'd go for something earlier than that.

Naw, they were still the same medium brown material they were made of for years at that time (at least back to '78 when I first got involved). The tacky crap they are today only showed up in '99 or so.
