After starting to reline my 24 coupe Transmission with a set of the older scandinavia bands I noticed they were to short to give the hump in the middle of the band for a tight fit. I guess you could back off the ends a little to achieve this. I thought about Kevlar but I thought to give cotton one last try. Macs is the only supplier I found that still has them. Anybody had sucess with these and are they LONG ENOUGH and good enough? The new scandanavia bands are also to short or so I have read on the Forum. I have come to the conclusion as for as band life goes it depends on how hard you drive and how you treat them. Cotton will last a good while if you treat them right. My opinion of course!! Thanks for any info on the cotton bands from Macs.

As cotton shrinks w/age I would just start in the middle and work both ways from there.
Alternately, you could rig up a jig to slowly strech the linings, but that might take a couple of weeks or more.

The Scandinavia band linings available 10 years ago were too short. The Scandinavian linings being supplied today come from a different source, Industrial Friction Materials Co. in connecticut. These linings are the correct length, 23 3/4 inch and are made with a treated cotton material. These are very nice linings and are the best alternative to Kevlar. These are available from all of the major parts dealers.
