Hello everyone, I seeked this fourm out to better understand what I have just found. I live in an old town of about 1500 people and theres an old Chevy dearship thats been out of buissness for over 30-40 years. Anyways a new owner just bought it and they are throwing everything away! blocks heads cranks and this! I got permission to get anything I wanted out of their metal dumpsters that they are filling. Anyways I found this Dual Winfield model S series carb set up with all the linkages including the throttle linkage and the choke bar linkage, all the parts are with the carbs nothing is missing, and the setup has been stored away in this building forever out of the weather, no cracks or anything in the carbs... Now I'm searching everything I can to learn about these old parts before they haul the dumpster away to the scrap yard in a few days. I'm an old car freak but not this old, I mainly deal and build the 60's - 70's vintage. But I dont want these precious parts getting crushed.... Back to the carbs, anyways what I am reading one is rare but a matching dual set is next to impossible, did I find something extreamly valubale? if i did its a blessing in disguise as my family is in a real world of hurt for some funds. I'd love to know anything you can tell me about these carbs, and any links to what the old engine parts looked like, theres piles of blocks cranks heads cams everything, and I got permission to take anything I want!!! thanks guys... never let auto history die...
Yes they are very rare. That set will fetch about 700.00. Grab all those early parts as fast as you can, you have found a gold mine.
All the early parts are extremely valuable, blocks, cranks, carbs. If I was you, Id run back over there with a truck, and take every single last part, and identify them once you get the pile back to your place. Do not let them get away.
Heres a link to maybe identify some of the parts.

Just run back and forth and haul home every ##### thing you can get your hands on,Sort it out later. That is a once in a blue moon chance to get some really rare and old parts that even if not T,someone can use.
was this a factory option or was it their version of aftermarket parts in the early days? what years and what cars was this on if it came from the factory?
Just got one truck load... going back for more..
That stuff's no good. Might as well send it all to me
Dont burden your self with all of that scrap metal. l'll come and save you some work, hauling back and forth, why fill that clean garage with that stuuff, LET ME HAVE IT !

Please don't sell all of that find of yours and come back here and rub our noses in all that money you made, OK?

ha ha, I'm just happy to have saved them from the crusher and get them to people who can use them. If I found a bunch of chevy big block stuff I would have kept it all to myself ha ha.. thanks everyone...
Post some pictures of everything so we can see what you have found!
