help! I am having difficulties installin aftermkt lined brake shoes on a '19 T. seems to me they are too large ??any suggestions would be appreciated.reply kennedyhw@frontiernet.net

I found a number of issues. Here's how I solved them:

1. Had to carefully open up pivot radius to meet bolt diameter. Round file carefully and adjust size and location to center shoe fore and aft. Both shoes

2. Grind the area square that sits on cam. If this surface is tilted, the shoes will always drag on the drum.

3. With very coarse file, knock off high spots on lineing.

4. With grinder, grind width to match old cast iron shoes.

5. With punch, set rivits a little deeper into lining.

6. File down spring retaining tang so that return springs will fit.
