the support on the end of the steering colum, about 4" long, that the steering colum goes thru and the spark advance rod goes thru and the end of the throttle rod goes thru and has the grease cup on it. the spark rod hole is worn oval shaped so when the spark advance is all the way up (retarded) the rod moves sideways in the support, instead of pushing the timer all the way over. what do you do in a situation like this ? guy

You haven't said what year car, but a 20s steering bracket is easy to find. The cheapest solution is to find a better one. If it's an early one, you could drill, ream, & bush it or have a machine shop do it for you

.

If you want to save it, I think your best best is to drill it oversized and use a brass or steel bushing to bring it back to size. A machine shop can do it for you if you prefer.
