Going to add taillights & turn signals to 23 T Touring. Best I can find from usual suppliers is from Snyders, however front turn lights are not offered by Snyders. Looking for suggestions for system from any supplier.
Don; I used LED clearance lites on my truck. This is what my Hi stop-lite looks like. I mounted the front ones on the apron. I'll post another one of the fronts later today.
Sincerely

I use the Logo-lites on my 23 touring. They run on 6 volts, are LED, and the control is magnetic. It can be removed and stashed under the dash if you want to look "correct". I mount the front ones on the frame bolts under the radiator, the rear ones are presently taped on the axles, but will be eventually mounted on the saddles.

Don,
I don't know how "correct" you want to keep your T, but I went to Bob's Antique Auto Parts for the taillights for my Speedster. They are Model A style ($11.30 ea) and are of very good quality. They have a variety of lights, both front and rear, mostly for '28 and newer and hot rods. Still, it's a great catalog to have on hand for a variety of items.

My .02. I used the front sidemount lights, easily converted with "kits" from suppliers, keeps the old time look, only problem is being seen, I have tried yellow bulbs, yellow plastic lens, paint and etc., they just don't grab your attention. I am running 6 volts so that is part of the problem, but I remember well how the first turn signals in use, and they were 6 volt, could be easily seen. Since I don't go to Shows and etc., I used a couple of turn / stop trailer lights for the rear, they work well for me.
These are pretty bright on 6v.
Delcity.com have a good selection of indicator lights and clearance lamps although many are of modern style. They are getting into the LEDs too.
Don; Here is a shot of the front turn signals. They are unobtrusive but effective. I use the red ones the same size as my stop-lites.
Sincerely
Jim Weir
Jim: Thanks for the info & especially the pics.
Thanks to all who responded, you have all given me good info and thoughts. Hope someday I have enough experience to be able to share. And of course GO PURDUE
Jim
Are all of those LEDs?
Ken
I like those a lot. Do you have a photo of the inside of the light you made?

I double checked it's httpL//www.delcity.net (not .com) for turnsignals and LED bulbs. Sorry if I caused confusion.

John; Yes these are all LED's. I had to use a low capacity flasher that I also bought at NAPA. I'm using John Reagan's turn/brake set-up.
When I was using batt ign, I had problems with the flasher not operating reliably, probably RFI from the coils. I went to Radio Shack and picked up a small choke to suppress the interference. I am using 6 turns of #22 wire. Mag operation doesn't seem to affect the operation of the flasher.
I couldn't get used to the unit clamped to the spark lever, so it is painted black hiding in plain sight on the left side of the dash.

I went to a truck parts supplier that carries a lot of dress up stuff for the big rigs. They have lots of lights in many sizes and shapes, many with real glass lenses. I chose some beehive clearance lights with glass lenses, and they really look authentic. The housings were chrome, so I roughed them up with a little sandpaper and painted them black. The red glass lenses look like they belong on the car, and they are so dark that they almost blend in until they are lit. On the front, I used the same lights with amber glass lenses. They look much better than the plastic lights that stick out like a sore thumb.
One of my catalogs was showing a conversion kit to add the turn signal bulb in the the front headlite bucket. It would be a great way to add the front turn signals and not adding sonething which does not belong or look right.
You can sometimes find 2-bulb reflectors (most often associated with Canadian Ts but used for a short time in the States with the early FA lighting system. I suppose you could take one of these and rig a bulb inside for turn signals. Seems to me I saw a car with this done to it at one time.
Hello
I think that the flashing lights indicators modern are not beautiful on a Ford model T.
I thus used the headlights as indicator, by using a tiny electronic diode hidden in the electrical loom.

I used a translator and I hope that my message is good.

To Ken - Are you using a colored bulb, lens, or what ? I could live with what you have.
Grady - Amber colored bulbs.
This is what they look like when off. Nary a clue.
Merci.
Olivier - I tried to view the diagram but the my computer just sits there. I waited for five minutes and nothing so I canceled out. It must be very large! For us folks on dialup, could you post a less dense picture? Thanks.
Ken; I found the site to open quite snappily. But I don't speak or read french.

Here is the picture he was trying to convey.
I had time to transmit to you the image only Doug already made. Thank you Doug.
For the French site you can use the translator “Babel Fish” in bottom of the screen.

So long

Jim,
Can you tell me the part number of the flasher that you got at NAPA? I need a flasher until to operate LED turn signals.
Alan
Alan; I don't remember the part number, but i'm sure that if you followed my lead and asked for a solid state flasher, they would come up with one. It isn't cheap but works well. It is probably a special order like mine was, but I had it the next day.
Sincerely
Jim Weir
I was in the local NAPA store the other day and they couldn't find one in their books or on the shelf. I have checked their website and it was of little help. I think I can get one off of the internet.
Unfortunately my favorite local parts went out of business several years ago and all we have now are chain stores. The clerks never know what they have unless they can look it up for a specific vehicle.
Alan
Alan; It's in their book, I'll go to our local store and get the # for you. It'll be tomorrow, tho.
Sincerely
Jim Weir
Ask for a Grote #44891 - Electronic Flasher. That's the 2-prong 12v, 1-10amp model.
The 3-prong is #44890.
