I visited a friend while on a trip last week who is building a 1905 Model B Ford motor. This is the upper end of the motor. He has also cast the crankcase, crankshaft and correct carb. He hopes to have it on the road early next year. There is some real talent out there!
The Henry Ford Museum has a Model B, the first production 4 cylinder the Ford Co. built. There was one in Minnesota back in the 1950s. It was sold at that time and I do not know its whereabouts. What and whose engine is this person using for patterns? Will the rest of the vehicle be authentic? I am reminded of the 1903 Winton that was reproduced.
He has a complete B with the original engine to copy. The rest of the second car is fairly correct, but the engine is missing.
Kim,
Some shots of this engine and the cars would be a great addition to the Early Ford Registry website. An article for the EFR newsletter would be even better.
Waddya think?
I found some Model B photos. Quite a car for 1904-05.
