Where can I get a copy of the engineer drawing for a fire wall for a 20 center door? Someone replaced the fire wall in the car I have and the coil box is too high, the stearing mount is not quite right either. I have a cabinet shop so cutting it would be no problem, but as the old man who got me startd in this 45 years ago said (you need to make it look like it was done on purpose).

John Regan has the Ford drawings for several years of those. You can reach him through his website at www.FunProjects.com.

Please be advised that I cannot sell drawings or copies of same. I do MAKE dashs for show cars but like everyone else who does research at the Benson Research center, I signed an agreement to NOT make or sell copies of any drawing that I have obtained there. Dashs in particular have a lot of minute detail changes through the years and it takes a bit of digging to EXACTLY match up the dash for a car against that cars motor number in order to get all the details right. I encourage folks to go to the Benson Research Center and spend a day or so and get the info they seek. I understand fully the reason that the Benson Research Center has the agreement and as a design engineer I respect proprietary rights of organizations for the intellectual property they own. I find the BRC fees to be totally reasonable. The main difficulty in obtaining drawings is that there are 60,000 drawings and the people that have them are NOT old car people so you really need to GO THERE and do your own research if you want to make a part yourself exactly per Ford drawings.

If you need a single dimension or small detail, I can often provide that if you ask during the winter months when things are slower but NO you cannot get the whole drawing by asking for one dimension at a time ha ha.

I sure don't want to break any laws or ruffel any feathers. Let me try it this way, dose anyone have an old firewall they could trace for me? I would be glad to pay for time and material or cut you one. Thanks, Bob.

Bob -- Sounds like you should contact the Benson Research Center for a copy of the drawing. Maybe John would give you the number of the drawing to ask for.

John -- Sorry, I didn't know the protocol.
