I have a T Fordor produced December of 1926. Original paint was green, original upholstery gray with red stripe. Seems that everyone is telling me that I should put the green stripe interior in. Oddly enough, both front bottom cushions were grey with a white stripe, everything else has red stripe. Maybe they came from a different car at some point. All of this is tattered original barn type upholstery, original to 1926 or 27, not older restoration work. What is typical in the later Fordor cars?

My fordor is green with gray interior and the white stripe. I was told that the white stripe is 1927 as yours would be if December of 1926. The green and red stripes are supposed to be pre 27 and green for the green cars and red for the red cars. My info might be wrong, but that is what I was told. Good Luck.

I have an October, 1926 Fordor with the original upholstery. The original car color was gray as found under the door panels, etc., and the upholstery is red stripe. Is red stripe upholstery still available, and if so, where?
Thanks, Keith Gumbinger

We have used a kit from MAC's for a 1926 tudor that had the red stripe. I would imagine since the material was available for that kit then it would be available for the Fordor. This was about 8 years ago though. The kit worked after some alterations...

I have a June 1926 Fordor with none of the original upholstery. Someone installed open car material (black leatherette) probably in the 60's. The man I bought it from said the upper fabric and headliner were original, but they're unmistakably tan and not gray, so now I doubt that too.

The exterior is another story though. It's still Channel Green/Black. I bought some of the green touchup paint from ModelTColor.com, and it matches nicely. (Not an intentional plug for the company, just the only place I could find the original color.)

From what I've read in online and book references, Ford changed the Fordor from Maroon/Black to Green/Black with matching pinstripe color starting in June of '26, which agrees with Doug's statement. I also read somewhere that late in the '26 model year, there was also a gray/black exterior option, which might account for the white pinstripe upholstery. I just wish these things could talk.

I have a 26 chan gr 4 fordor. The interior is gray with a green stripe. Check out Bill Hirsch out of New York for samples of the material you need. The material is all wool and went 6 years ago for $60.00 a yard.
