Sandy and I have just returned home from an absolutely wonderful, once in a lifetime, trip around the world. We saw many wonderful things and went to many great places.
There were 3 very special places that had me choked up with emotion,
The spot where Admiral Lord Nelson fell on the HMS Victory in Portsmouth UK,
the new "Freedom Tower" site in NY (its moved on from the "Ground Zero" title)
and The Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbour. I have been to the Arizona memorial before but never felt like this.
But on to other important stuff.
We visited quite a few museums the best of which was without a doubt the 'Henry Ford' & 'Geenfield Village'.
The 'Piquette Ave. Plant' guys deserve a really B I G "Well Done" too, considering what they have to contend with to be able to achieve thier goals.
Other great museums we saw were the 'National Motor Museum' at Beaulieu, England and the 'National Railway Museum' at York, England. They were the 'stand-out' ones.
We spent a day in each the Henry Ford museum and Greenfield Village doing a tour of things Ford including the Edison Ave home and the Fair Lane estate where we were quite literally chased by a snake. I thought they were supposed to be shy and retreating things but this one was faily agressive.
The highlight of our visit to Michigan however was a visit to Tim Moores place at Eaton Rapids south of Lansing. Tim and his wife Joanne opened up thier home to us and about 20 other model 'T' and 'A' folk who drove thier cars in for a Sunday cook-out. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed lots of good food, great conversation and made several new friends.
Tim and his family worked particularly hard to make the day a success and Sandy and I would like to take this opportunity to Publicly thank them for thier efforts and we hope that someday, we can return the favour. Well Done & Thanks Tim, Joanne and kids.

It was our pleasure to meet you and we had all looked forward to it for a long time. Duane Wells made most of the contacts as I work nights and a second job. Myself, that is a day I'll never forget.

We had some fine examples of early Fords that day (not any of mine- I own junk)) but the "belle of the ball" was Tim P's 1911 touring that I had never seen. That was a long distance drive for him and unfortunately he had a flat on the way home.

All we were was the location...our friends that showed up were there to welcome you and we all really enjoyed the visit. Sandy is the best and you are one blessed man.

Tim and the group.
