Well, I'm done playing with my 25 TT fire truck for the year and I was wondering if there were any suggestions on what if anything I should do to prep it for the winter storage in my garage. The garage is connected to my home and is insulated but not heated. I do have a work shop out there that I can heat with a kerosine heater while I work. But normally it stays about 50 during the winter.

Andy; I would suggest draining the radiator and filling it with half distilled water and a good antifreeze. then I would suggest charging the battery now, and again in January. While you are at it remove the battery cables and clean the posts and cable ends. Don't reconnect until you are ready to go driving next March 16th.

Don't know where you are located, but we can drive most of the winter, except when it rains. C-Cabs aren't very waterpruf.

Sincerely

Jim Weir

Andy,

I agree with Jim's post, but I would also add Sta-Bil to the fuel in the tank. I add 3/4 ounce per gallon of gasoline (some double the Sta-Bil recommendation). Either run it 15 minutes or so until the treated fuel is in the carburetor or open the bowl drain and allow at least a pint to flow to do the same.

Close the drain petcock, then the fuel petcock. Since your garage is attached, use a keen nose to make dang sure that fuel is not leaking - anywhere.

Seth
