I was going through my dad old photos and found this of my great grandpa with his 1910 in Imperial beach calif and thought I would share it
Scot,
Great photo, Until 1923, there were no defined roads to IB, it was trolley or boat, Autos did a whole lot of puddle jumping to get there.
Alex
Scott,
Great picture! Thanks for sharing it!!!!

Very interesting photo, especially the period clothing & the liscence plate across the radiator. Thanks for the pix

Edward - You bring up an interesting point. I was always given to understand that those ol' brass radiators were just barely adequate to keep the engine cool. But you'd never know it by that photo! Considering that that's Southern California, that license plate has to cover up nearly half of the frontal area of the radiator!
Nice old photo Scot; thanx,........harold
The T is not a 1910. Note the top irons and the headlights. It is at least a 1911. The photo could have been taken in late 1910 of the 1911 model year.
Harold,
The numbers are probably mounted on steel screen (painted) which was a common practice prior to California issued plates in 1914, the screen allowed the air to get through to the radiator.
Boring factoid, Imperial Beach is the most Southwestern point in the US.
Alex
Me thinks it's a late 1912. Note the short top straps and the rear door that has the hinges in the front.
Nice picture, but the car is probably a 1912 as the dash appears to be 1 piece. 1911 and before use a 2 piece dash.
I'm also thinking 1912 with the optional front doors, also appears the headlamps have been converted to electric.
Wow! I love those old photos. Thanks for sharing with us.

Registration records show this car was serial # 141252 and in 1912 registered to L.W.Smith of Dulzura, San Diego County, Cal.
Awsome pic! The real deal there....thank you very much for sharing that. I love seeing original pics, the clothes, the styles, etc. They got dressed up to go everywhere! The even must have had a "working on the model T" suit.
Tim
Layden -
Do you have any registration information on this car?
Whoa! Dulzura to Imperial Beach, back then it must of been one hell of day trip.
Phil,
Somewhere around here is photo of my Grandfather & friends with a string of rabbits between them, all wearing 3 piece suits (the men, not the rabbits)in front of my Grandfather's 1917 Buick, it was taken around Hollywood & Vine.
