My daughter stopped by today. She was cold, hungry and had a bag of laundry in hand. Even though my son has been doing a lot of the grunt work as well as some of my parts machining, she beat him to the first photo of someone actually sitting in the car. You can see my Z-head that doesn't hit the bottom of the coil box, I did paint the cylinder block and will probably hear a few protests from the purists.

She also passed judgement that my wife will probably need a step ladder to get into this thing.

Yes, I know I need to clean up my shop.

I would be sooooooooooooooooo happy if my shop were that clean. Nice looking daughter, too.

Clean it up? I don't see any leaves or dead possums.

A clean shop is the sign of a sick mind.

Trust me it's cluttered. If you look over my daughter's left shoulder in the right photo, you can barely make out the gas pump standing next to the garbage can and to the left of the traffic light. Fortunately the whole place doesn't have the low ceiling.

Stan, Becky thanks you for your kind words. We fed her and her laundry is almost done so she's headed back to school tonight. Kind of makes me glad I'm an old married guy not having to do that kind of hectic pace any more.

Looks good, its going to be gorgeous.

Your shop is plenty clean, I know of one T (mid restoration) that is is actually walled in with stuff on all sides, like a huge shelf.

Thomas -- As for the purists, just paint the head to match the block and there won't be a problem.

Both subjects are great looking. And for the shop; it looks like you can walk from one end to the other. That's way too much empty floor space in my book.

Hey there is work being done which is more than I can say for some of the projects laying around here. Remind your daughter that you don't have the running boards on yet for her to climb up on. My wife Renee only let me have an F250 truck if we could get the side step up things on it so she could get into it. What Aluminum head? - I don't see anything.

Both look very nice. I've always used the excuse that time allows either cleaning or work, but not both! Of course, now that I stopped working on other folks' projects, I have a lot more time but it's still a mess!
I still think a clean shop represents a man that can't keep his mind on what he's doing. I concentrate on what I'm working on, not what I'm tripping over!

Running boards... reminds me of a short lived Chrysler ad back in the '90's. It showed the 3 popular minivans of the time and the comparitive "difficulty" of accessing the front seat by showing a lady in a skirt getting into the car. The Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyageur showed the least amount of thigh which was supposed to be a selling point (???). I owned an Aerostar had the most "revealing" aspect. ;)

Thomas,
lol....I have made very little progress this week on my car.....that is because it took me all week to clean the shop up enough to start finding tools again. Not sure it that was a good idea or not. Back to the car now! :-)Your car look great...don't worry about the shop!

I would give a couple eye teeth to have a shop like that to work in.I tried to work on my t some today.Never got to 50 degrees.I couldnt stand it.But I did get a cutout ready and mounted on my generator.I also fiqured out, there aint a hole to mount my new muffler in the chassis!!!!.Duh.
BUT it will be in the 70's and clear starting saterday! So dust and sparks, and ocassional mild cuss words will fly once again!

50's?? Geez, Mack, that'd be nice here! I don't think it's been that warm all week. 20's at night, 40's in the daytime.

I hate Kentucky more and more every year as I get older. I hate mud, rain, humidity, rust, and cold, and that seems like all Kentucky has to offer. Did I mention rust?

Go for it Mack!

8 inches of snow on the ground, and gettin 2 to 4 more inches right now. I have been up at 4am every day this week plowing the parking lots at the college I work at. That doesn't allow much "T time". Hope this stops soon!

Tim-
Out here in San Diego we turn the fireplace on if it gets down to 70. . . .that's right, can't get real wood to the 23rd floor of a cement highrise so we have gas fireplaces! They're predicting 1/4" of rain today and the weather stations are all calling it "STORM WATCH 2007". How's that for wimpiness?? *g*

Hi Mike,
I'd love to see some pics...try this thread
http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/29/19993.html
If that doesn't help, go to "keyword Search" function on the top of the page you are now on, and type in "resize pictures" in the proper place. That will give you many more posts which will offer suggestions and perhaps one of them will make things work for you.
Good Luck...awaiting some interesting pics. Dave
