What position should should the hand brake be in for storage, applied puts constant pressure on the clutch spring, released puts pressure on the clutch disc, maybe a couple of notches applied? Thanks in advance. George Hand
All the way forward. The reasoning here is that it squeezes the oil out from between the clutch disks which will make a more free neutral when you try to start it in the future.

that's how I park mine. Starts easy (no electric start) and doesn't "creep". Just don't forget to set the brake before starting it!
I park mine with the parking brake on. I squeeze the oil out of the clutch and the low and reverse bands right before I start up. The clutch spring hasn't sacked out yet.

I also park with the parking brake on. No problems, and neutral is free. I don't have a starter so hand crank every time.
I wonder if it really makes any difference whether the clutch is left engaged or disengaged? Anyone conduct any controlled experiments? Or is this such common knowledge that it has to be true?
With a Watts clutch you don't need to squish the oil out of the clutch to have a free neutral. Cranking my '15 is the same in the winter as in the summer -- easy. I don't care who you are, sooner or later you'll forget to set the parking brake before cranking if you always leave the lever forward. I'd rather not invite an accident to happen if I can avoid it.
