1st. The heavy looking flapper just inside, behind the chock plate, it has two round knob looking things on it. Do those knobs face the chock end or the throttle plate end of carb?
2nd. Do you know what is the float setting is?

They go toward the inside of carb. Set float at 1/4 inch. It will work fine.
