A while back Mack ask me to post more pictures of the fender braces and bed of my dads pickup. I finally had a chance over the holidays.
Happy new year all, and I look forward to becoming a new member next year.
thank you sir. That is quite a engineering feat on that fender brace!
Here's a photo of my Grandfather, Pete Mortensen with a '22 coupe he'd bought to set my Uncle Carl up in the dairy business down in Mission, Texas about 1932. If you look closely you can see the same fender brackets attached on the front of this car.
It would be interesting to see what is underneath the fender. Most I have seen went across the top of fender.
Thanks Warren, Without question one of the best things about this site is the pictures that folks share. As a new T'ster seeing these old photos only strengthens my desire to keep my 25' original. I have old photos of my car when my grandpa had it.
The best I can tell, apparently you have to really mess up the lower apron on the radiator to bolt it to something.I cant tell if it is the crossmember or what.
I also cant tell exactly how it attaches to the top of the fenders.
I will have to find out how that is mounted, now that you have me wondering. I will get back to you soon.
It looks like it attaches to the fenders' mounting brackets. Apparently you needed to cut holes in the inner fenders for that. As for the lower arms, the piece probably was designed for use on the pre-24's which didn't have the deep apron.
