Many have asked what is it like in the Richmond/Centerville area. Jim Hair, a local photograper has posted some of his images on You Tube. If interested, go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Il1HBKSK4Mk

Thanks,
Jay Klehfoth

What a wonderful post.

Something tells me that we won't be seeing the image that's 36 seconds into the video in July! We have our reservations, registration done and are looking forward to meeting everyone.

GREAT JOB Jay & Barbara.

Great post Jay. It looks like a beautiful area. Thank you for your hard work organizing this event. I'm curious if the people of Centerville/Richmond are prepared for the influx of us crazy T people?

We're still working out the details here. We still have to fill out the forms, but we're not sure what to sign up for yet. I guess I have to count up the nickels and dimes to see what we can and can't afford. I would be interested in reading what everyone else has planned. We started with "lets just go for the swap meet" and it's slowly spinning out of control.... We've past "I guess we could bring the T", "maybe a day earlier", and an extra adult. I figure $1,000 in gas to get there. How many of the forum crowd are going, and what's on your to do list?

I wanted to bring the car but the cost just to park it anywhere on the grounds and let it sit will stop that for us. So then the plan was to maybe just show up for a day or two to look at the other cars and maybe check out the swap meet but I was told we would still need to register the same as if we brought a car so looks like we can't make it. I can't walk that far anyway so guess I will just look at the pictures others post here after its over.

Bob,

Are you sure you can't pay an entry fee just to look at the car and visit the swap meet?

I know this is a high dollar affair, but that seems unreasonable. What are the locals gonna do who simply want to do the same thing?

Mike

I am only telling what I was told on the phone when I called to ask about it. I do not plan to drive my car on any tour because it is just not going to be ready but it would have been nice to take and putt around town in between the times we would have been in the car show area and the the swap meet area. I thought the idea was to have as many model T's there as possible but it sounds more like a tour only with most of the cars out on tour and not sitting where we can look them over.

It's a shame it's so expensive, I bet it's turning allot of people off to the idea. I'm hoping to recover some of the cost by selling at the swap meet.
I started off with $70 worth of flea market space, but then I decided to advertise in the program book ($150), then if I want one of the books I have to register (another $150), then we decided my daughter would go too (another $100), she wants to go on one of the tours ($20), and I wanted to see a seminar ($10), and maybe show up on Tuesday instead of Wed when the swap meet opens ($60 parking?), and it's slowly getting way out of control! This is why I have not finished registering yet. My head is still spinning trying to figure out what to put down on the forms.

That being said, I am excited about it! Jay Leno's supposed to be going?, and who knows who else might show up!

Bob, if I bring mine, it will be sitting in the swap meet area on a trailer for people to look at if they want. It's no prize winner, but I'll probably bring it so I can drive over to the M.T.F.C.A. museum, and maybe the free tour around Richmond.

You guys should read carefully the information posted on the Web site: www.Tparty2008.com

You have incorrect information.

Bob,I think if you can find it,it only costs $5/day to get in. If you want to take your car inside the fairgrounds, then it is a little more expensive. The fairgrounds are open Tuesday through Sat. There is nothing to prvent you from bring your car and leaving it in parking and you can drive all over town. Your state taxes allow you to do that.

It would have been nice to have been told this when I called and asked about it. All I could get was register even if you don't plan to bring a car. I was looking at paying out a lot of money just to show up for a day or two from the info I was given. Why was it so hard to get an answer to a simple question? I had looked over every inch of that web site in the past and none of that was on it at the time and that is why I called to ask. I had given up on the idea of going but now it might be possible depending on what shape I am in by that date.
