Try contacting the ALPCA and see if they can refer you to a collector in Texas.

Or, contact John Winkler in Brenham, TX,(979) 421-6600, e-mail cyrileew@peoplepc.com. He's a member of the ALPCA and his holding a regional meet in Brenham, TX in March. He may have some available plates or I'm sure he can refer you to some collectors who may have 1925 Texas plates for sale.

There are plates on e-bay all the time. I just bought a '25 Ohio plate for my Tudor for $6.00 + $5.00 shipping. Best 11 bucks I ever spent. It was in GREAT shape.

Good luck, Tim

Wade,
Yeah, eBay is a good place to look. Jesse Perez down in San Antonio is another good source. When I warm up enough to go out to the Conservatory and measure either a C Cab or Enclosed cab for another thread, I'll get Jesse's telephone number for you. . . george

They needn't necessarily be in Texas. When I wanted '24 Missouri plates for my T, I sent a letter with a self-addressed stamped envelope to everyone in Hemmings who advertised license plates. The plates on my car now came from a collector in Connecticut.

Good point Dick, The Ohio plates I bought for my '25 Tudor came from New Mexico. It is good to have them home again. lol

Just plug in "search" for your plates on FleaBay- it will tell you when the plate(s) come up. I've long since given up on dealers and the alpca guys....worked every time for me.

The 1916 Michigan plate for my car came from a person in Australia. It is amazing how those things get around!

Wade,

You should check with the guys in your local club, many of them will have collected Texas license plates over the years. Not sure which years my father has but I know he has a stack of Texas plates from the 1920's looking for new homes.

If you are not a member of a local club the Lone Star T's would love to have you as a member. Here is the web site:

Before you spend money on plates, make certain the number you want to use is not already taken--you DMV can tell you. Don't bother asking me how I know ---grin----Regards, Tim
