Well, guys.....I did something today I've never done before. I took the TT out in the rain.

When I got my truck, the top was in very poor condition. It was very weathered oil cloth that was ripped in several places exposing the beautiful wooden slats that form the complex curve of the roof. I would never have gotten it out in the rain for fear of damaging the roof slats. I drove it that way for months, but the top was getting progressively worse, so I replaced it with the vinyl top material sold by the various vendors.

Also, the back of my cab was open. It has a windshield and sliding doors, but the back was one huge opening. There was evidence of a curtain having once been back there, but has long since been missing. When I ordered my top material, I ordered enough to make a rear curtain from. I took it down to my local upholtery shop an had him sew it up for me. I installed it last night, knowing it would be raining this morning for our trip to breakfast.

Sure enough, it was raining (And pretty cool to boot) this morning, but with my newly enclosed cab......No problem. I live on dirt road and would never even consider taking my fully restored Model A out on a day like today, but for an unrestored vehicle, such as my TT, what's the harm? No windshield wiper either! But at 18 mph, who needs one?

Now, if I could just keep that tail light lit.....

Hal, put a little Rain-X on the windshield and keep on sloggin'. I have driven through many rain storms, snow storms, dust storms. and a grass hopper storm. It can be a little nerve rackin'and down right dangerous at times. The fact is, if you are a serious driver, you WILL get caught in a storm once in a while. Drive carefully as if you have no brakes at all, because YOU DON'T. Good Luck
