Anyone know if the door hinge is brass, steel, or either/or?

On the set of Victors setting at my feet, the hinge part attached to the bezel is brass and the part attached to the shell is steel(not brass) Same way on the John Browns I have.

On my 14 t which was original when I got it -- it has Victor #2's and the part of the hinge that is attached to the light housing is Steel-- the part attached to the brass rim is Brass-- I needed to replace the rims, they were bent and broken and an attempt had been made to solder -- not very eye appealing!! I ground off the brass rivets hoding the hinge half on and used them on my new rims.. 2 cautions-- Most new rims are not polished and will need to be to look good--I have a buffing wheel and one musst be extremely carfull when doing this job--GO SLOW!!!-- On reassembly I did not rivet the hinge to the rim but rather replaced the rivets with brass #6 screws and nuts. Unless you are a real traditionalist I do not recommend riveting on the brass rims unless you are very carefull and have had experience doing that. I am a retired aircraft mech. (Sheet metal mech) and did not want to chance bending or dinging up the rims--and I never have had anyone notice!! Good Luck.

Thanks for the information. The Model 2s I have are all steel; the rims and chimneys are nickel plated and the hinges, both parts, are painted steel (black). I may have the parts brass plated and use them as "driver" lamps that actually work, since they have no script, saving my Browns for show.
