Well guys, here is a new book from Krause Publications about our favorite car. It is interesting, and has loads of pictures. I don't think it was very well edited, and has misinformation as well as spelling errors. Perhaps this is because it was printed in China! I'm glad I have the book, but would hesitate to recommend anyone paying $40 for it. Bruce was given credit for his help too, but I think they should have let Bruce edit it one more time before it went to print. It even shows the assembly line, with Model A's on it!

It is no worse than the Lube chart we've had for years with a Model A key on it.

I never had a chance to edit it before it was printed. The author had copies of my books and the Encyclopedia CD. That was the extent of my participation. But, indeed, it is a nice book..sort of an updated "Henry's Wonderful Model T" that Floyd Clymer published many years ago.

I ordered one a couple of weeks ago and they told me it would be March because of production problems. Obviously they must have overcome those problems. John

ISBN is 0896895602 and the EAN is 9780896895607.

I agree with Bruce, nice book and an updated Henry's Wonderful Model T. For exacting details Bruce's reference book has the necessary information we need for our hobby. It could have used better editing, one of the photos of a front axle is upside down.

Anything you need to know, you can ask your computer. Type in ISBN Number and do a search. You will get:

Better book now available anyway. =) Herman and Frieda are back in print with a few corrections (she needed to move the spark lever up, not down, etc. Proofread it a hundred times and never caught that) and a new "Freida Learns to Drive" story wherein Freida learns to drive a Model T, Torvald educates the Co. Superintendent of Schools on how the Ford Ignition System converts to a single spark ignition with automatically advanced timing and Herman wins the day by buying locally and straightening up the people who need it. Illustrated with original Ford advertising and instruction manuals and printed in Montana, USA.

John, you should have got your copy and have it read by now, I sent it to your Baird office last week. I have about 100 "Freida Learns To Drive" stories ready to go to the Post Office this afternoon for some of the people who bought a copy of H & F during the last two years, I worked on the packaging and addressing until midnight last night. I'm pretty much sending them out in the order they were sold originally and should have a couple hundred more ready to go by the middle of next week. The updated copy of the book including "Freida Learns to Drive" will be ready in about two weeks, I'm waiting for a couple more illustrations plus trying to get the web site updated. So far, only Mike Walker, John Joyce and Ron Patterson have copies but I mailed about 50 1st class yesterday so they should be showing up if you bought a book. If you don't get a copy of "Freida Leans to Drive" within a couple weeks and you bought a book in the last couple years let me know and I'll send you one. I've tried to keep track of all the addresses but my place is a sea of paper so I may have missed some.

The entire book is also now available in large print for the vision impaired or those who forget to take their reading glasses when they go to the bathroom.

Web site is hermanandfreida dot com but I can't figure out how to get any more added to it. Have to read the directions and try again. I'm trying to post the entire "Herman and the Ruckstell Rearend" story and excerpts from the new stories on it. Anybody knows a publisher who wants to pay me big bucks for it let me know.

It's only $26.40 on Amazon. I'll probably pick up a copy.
