I have a '22 coupe that needs new tin in the floor of the turtle deck w/spring hump. I see them in the different manufactures catalogs but everyone has them listed for '23-25 or newer. Will the sheet metal for a '23-'25 fit in a '22? I thought most all the cars from '20 to '25 were the same size.

Denny -- I don't think the '22 and earlier turtles had a sheet metal floor. I believe the floor was wood, and it was part of the body where it extends back underneath the turtle. (Somebody on here probably knows for sure.)
The floor in my 21 is/was metal and ran from the rear of the car to the floor boards. It is one piece with bracing on the bottom and also has the the lower seat spring riser mounted to it.
With all the coupes of this vintage popping up, too bad these are not re-made along with the lower qt body panel.
I'm sorry, I was thinking of the runabouts, not the coupes.
The metal looks original and is one piece in the (turtle) trunk floor and a second piece fits just behind the seat and meets the wood floor boards just under the seat. Both are stamped metal with support ridges pressed in. I don't want to order from the vendors only to find out they don't fit and then get stuck with postage both ways.
Does anyone know if the metal sold for '23-'25 will fit a '22?
The money I save can be spent on my health food drink of barley and hops...the more health food drink I enjoy the better my rebuild job looks!
Denny
Denny, I have been wondering the same thing. Mine is in pretty sad shape. I am thinking of maybe trying to fabricate one.
Jim
Denny,
The 23 - 25 trunk floors will not fit the earlier coupes.
Dave S.
Thanks Dave.. Is there a source for earlier coupes or do I need to fabricate something.
Denny
I don't know of a source for the earlier coupes. You are probably going to have to fabricate something. Can you post a photo of what it looks like?
Dave S.
Dave,
It looks like the photos of the sheet metal floors in the vendors catalogs for the '23-'25 coupes. Perhaps if I get some measurements I could compare it to those. Will the vendor send me measurements if I contact them?
I have to go out of town on business for the next few days so I won't be able to post anything for a while. I need to ask my daughter-in-law how to post photos but I'm sure I can get something together.
Denny
Denny, where are you located? Is there enough of yours left to use as a pattern? I've made a lot of floor panels over the years and many times have been able to duplicate then where it can't be told from a factory one.

Call Howell sheetmetal and see if they can make one. I have used their parts and found the parts to be good, prices fair and the people friendly.

Ted, I emailed them Friday with a very simple question. Still no reply. It doesn't take long to type "yes" or "no".

Some photos my 21 floor pan;
The bend down tabs on the front of the seat rizer hold up the back of the floorboard. It is one piece front to back. The holes that you see in the seat rizer along the front are tabs that are bent back and rivited to the floor pan.
