Todays "Frank and Ernest" comic was one drawing. It had a box that said "Another turning point in the industrial revolution". Pictured in the comic was "Ford Motor Co." with workers on a conveyor belt passing stationary cars as they worked on them. To the side are two guys talking. One is saying, "On second thought, lets put the CARS on the conveyor".

I'm no expert, but isn't that pretty much what actually happened?

They weren't on a conveyor belt but they did work as a team each man doing his part until the car was completed. Once the assembly line came each worker did the same thing as the cars rolled by. There's an old Joke about the Guy who was fired from Ford, He dropped his wrench & by the time he picked it up he was five cars behind.
