Hi All,

So the new oils lack necessary lubricants for old babbitted motors. This is do to reduceing emissons from new cars.

What type of oils are you all using now?

A good mechanic into old engines states that he is using oil for diesel engines, 15-50 weight in his T.

Any other ideas?
Fred

Fred, So far Delo and Rotella have not reduced the Zinc in diesel oil. So your mechanic is correct. I forgot the symbol to look for on the rating symbol.

They didn't have the zinc additive in the Model T era. Modern oils work well.
