Look on the seat frame under the front cushion.

Try the passenger sill near the floorboard, or the floorboard riser.

Stuart,

If the car has been rewooded, the body number is often lost -- especially if it was originally stamped into the wood. If it was originally on a metal tag then sometime folks will put the body number tag back on the new wood. Caution, sometimes folks will place a metal body number tag that they find at a swap meet etc. on a body it did not originally come on and that can throw you off. We also have at least once instance of a 1915 touring that had the body number metal tag located under the front floor board on the side of the lower body sill. That is not where it is usually found but that one was there.

Sometimes if the body wood has been painted over several times the paint will fill up the body number if it is stamped into the wood. That occurred on our Dec 1917 Fisher bodied touring. I could not see any sign of a body number but I knew there likely was one there since I was told it had the original wood framing. See: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/257047/275104.html?1331879213 for suggestions on how to make the numbers visible again.

Also, even if the body has been rewooded, you should be able to tell who produced the body if it has one of the body maker letters stamped into the front or rear seat heel panel. Please see the forum posting “Home for the Holidays” at: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/29/40322.html which has several photos and suggestions on where to look etc.

It also has some additional items to look for on a 1915 such as the riveted cowl above the coil box etc.

If you find any numbers or letters please let us know.

Respectfully submitted,

Hap l9l5 cut off

Mine (mid- to late model year (August) '15 touring, body by Ford) is stamped into the wood on the right angled riser immediately next to the floorboard.

August 1915 is actually the 1916 model year.
