Do you think Henry approved of this? He might have even helped Firestone pay for it.

Ever read any of the old news paper stories about races he was involved in? "Ford car wins race or sets record. His name came first. In the headline. The driver's name was buried in the text. He knew "spin" before there was spin. Also though numerous tires were tested only the Ford car is mentioned.
Charlie,
I agree. Henry Ford must have been many things, engineer, showman, visionary.............
Pretty amazing,
Rob
Henry was, above all else, the right person at the right time. He was all those amazing things and more at the right point in history.
Also, Rob, don't forget that Harvey was a personal friend and camping (?) buddy of Henry's. What a time in history it was. The "work ethic" along with integrity had never been higher unless in an ancient civilization.
Big business made huge amounts of money while bringing up a middle class the likes of which the world had never (not ever) seen. They understood that they could become fabulously wealthy, but that it was not a sustainable wealth unless there was a middle class to support it.
Do you think what they did about a hundred years ago could be done by today's people? Do you think many people today understand that?
Sorry, Rob, for the drift. My comments about the greats of then just sort of slid a bit.
Thank you, Rob, again.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
