Model T Ford Forum: Forum 2013: Some Rajo info needed

I am getting ready to install a Rajo BB on my speedster engine and have a few questions:

1. What is the thickness of the felt pad used to oil the rockers?

2. Does any one have original Rajo installation literature that they would be willing to share?

Thanks in advance,

Tom

Tom,

No help on the literature but the felt I use with my Fronty is 5/8 thick and works fine. Should work well on the Rajo too. I think I got it from Restoration Supply but that was years ago.

I used 3/4 felt on my BBR plus I added essex drip oilers on the cover . Never had a problem.

This is what I did to mine, the pad is 5/8 thick felt, placed over the rockers and then this pan is installed over the pad. This pan should be somewhat level, shimming as necessary. A plug on the cover to pour the oil, and no need to remove cover. Corners of pan were also welded close.
Next mod will be a sump pump to replenish felt pad.
