I've "heard" or read through the years that Ford did not spend a significant amount on advertising (no factual basis). However in my "searches" I've found significant Ford print ad examples.

Came across this this morning, from the Los Angeles Herald newspaper, March 1908. Henry Ford claims Ford spends more on advertising than any other other auto manufacturer.

Looks like Ford was getting this info out across the country, for some reason.

One line I found quite interesting was "it's the only medium that is always up to the minute". In our modern age of the internet, our perception has changed a bit.
More good stuff ,Rob, thank you.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2

US Government took over civilian radio during WWI.

RCA formed in 1919.

Other radio stations apparently started around 1922.

It looks like the only medium available was newspaper and billboard. I remember my father telling me he sold 'EXTRA's' when he was young and that would have been the 30's.

I just bought an original Model T Ford Advance Catalog on Ebay it was printed on 3-10-08. All of the pictures of the car show three pedals and two levers, I wonder if they had not made up their minds on the shifting of the transmission prior to that date. It is a much larger catalog than my original 1910 catalog.

Steve,

Any other "differences" from the original two lever two pedal cars? Are there actual photographs or artist drawings? If you are able to post any pics that would be great.

Thank you,

Rob

Rob, the 1908 advance catalog is here in this site, well not in original layout, but the pictures + some discussion: http://www.mtfca.com/books/1909.htm
