i have 1924 fordor do i need engine pan arm wood and where do they go 2 of them.
They go between the frame and the pan arm. Its best to have them in place as Ford intended.
There should be a little drag on them when you install them. I usually use a sawed off broom handle to pound them in, and then center them with a taper punch. I believe by '24 they were using the square ones, not the earlier style.
.....and DON'T tighten the horizontal bolt which passes through them; just nip it up. This was Ford's recommendation to lessen the incidence of cracking and breakage of the arms. Use a self-locking nut unless you really think you can insert a split pin down in that narrow hole!

Between the crankcase arms and the inner frame rail.
