Have we decided what the correct finish is on valve covers for 1911? I saw the other day somebody said it was thought they were plated? What's the latest?

Surface rust with a light mist of thin black gilsonite paint would be concours correct. They look better gloss black though.

I did mine with aluminum paint, same as the transmission inspection cover.
