Andrew "Andy" Mounce, 88, passed away Monday in Somerset, KY.
Wow that is really sad. Andy sold me a lot of parts 10 - 12 years ago when I was restoring the chassis under the '13 touring that Constantine drove to Russia. Andy had some awesome original Fronty and Winfield equipped speedsters, and a '26 tudor equipped with air conditioning!.
A great Model T guy, he will be missed.
Eleanor and I, along with our toy poodle Gus, had the opportunity to visit Andy several weeks ago. How Andy found that I had gotten a T will remain a mystery to me. I received a call from him and the first thing he said was "I am Andy Mounce and I hear you are looking for T parts".
Eleanor and I made the trip to Somerset and had a wonderful time just sitting in his shop talking about T's and life. Andy was fulfilled with both. I learned that we knew a number of people in common. Andy gave me a tour of his collection. WOW is the only word that comes to mind.
Just one meeting with Andy was enough to let me know that we have lost a great Model T enthusiast and a great deal of knowledge on the T.
My only regret is that I will not get another opportunity to enjoy his company and tap into his vast knowledge of the Model T.
He still had the 26 with the Air Conditioning. He had a distinct glow when we talked about his adventures on the road in his cars.
REST IN PEACE, ANDY.
I'll miss Andy also. He was truly a unique individual. We met him years ago on the National Club tours. He was always friendly and had a smile.
If I'm not mistaken, that '26 Tudor with air conditioning was on an International Scout chassis, with the T body mounted on it and it had wire wheels.
He will be missed.

Andy was a great Guy, we met him in Somerset when we were there in 2008. He took us out to his property and we saw all his cars. One of the pioneer T guys who did remarkable work on his cars.
Here is a photo of myself on the left with Andy and the Kamper the old guy on the far right was his helper, he worked on the cars with Andy for board and lodgings.
PICTURE OF ANDY BEHIND THE WHEEL OF HIS "T" FOR THE LAST TIME.
12-01-2012 CHRISTMAS PARADE SOMERSET, KY. COUNTY JUDGE BULLOCK IN THE BACK SEAT. ANDY PARKED THE CAR AFTERWARDS AND THAT IS WHERE THE CAR SITS TODAY. ANDY WOULD HAVE FELT LIKE HE WAS ALREADY IN HEAVEN AS DRIVING THE "T'S" WAS WHAT HE ENJOYED THE MOST.
BY THE WAY THE OLDER FELLOW IN THE PREVIOUS PICTURE WAS ART BELL, DECEASED ABOUT TWO YEARS.
That is hard to believe. He just sent me an email Feb. 25 saying he had cancer and that this might be his last email because he was so weak. I have been emailing him ever since and even this morning.
I have been to his place in Somerset Ky several times and the view behind his house was breathtaking. I remember a few years ago he lost his Wife and his dog Buford. He will be sorely missed?
I don't think he would mind me posting this:
