Hi, Ron. Can you tell us anything about those geared hubs? Small pinion running inside a sun gear, or what? Is this common on the snow cars? Thanks, Bob

Yes that was a standard reduction hub by the Snow Flyer Co. in 1928. Earlier the Snowmobile Co.used the TT worm drive rear axel assrmbly for more torque along with the ruckstell in both standard and TT rear ends. All three Cos were trying to aquire the rights to use
the ruckstell (information found in letters from Mr Ruckstell to the these Cos.) the Snow Flyer and Snow Bird Cos both desinged there own hubs for There T and TT units but there is no reference that Snowmoble did staying with the Ruckstell assembly. From 1925 to 1929 when Snow Flyer purchesed Snowmobile there was very heavy compation between them. By 1934-35 all three Cos were merged in to the Arps Corp.(Snow Bird brand).
