been messing with it and got a bad miss,,but every time i short out a plug with a screwdriver and "yea that is the bad cylinder, i check plug head bolts then start it up again it moves to another cylinder,,timer??ideas??

Valves randomly sticking due to ethanol crud build-up on the valve stems?
If you hear backfiring through the carburetor, then I would say this is likely.
How good of shape is your coil box? Is it the original with the original wiring and terminal bolts still in it?
My 1919 Runabout was doing the occasionly miss from minor to worse till I finally removed the coil box and installed new terminal hardware and internal wiring.
It made a BIG overall difference!
I had swapped plugs, coils and points and etc.
and untill I rebuilt the coil box not much helped.
got it will check valves tomorrow
