I am restoring a 24 Roadster and I am wondering where the clip/brackets attached to the back rest fasten to the tack strip? Anyone know of an illustration showing the installation procedure or where it is supposed to attach?

Glenn

I just saw an original touring, which used top material looped through the back/top main wire of the back rest, looped over top of and tacked to the tack strip. The loop was long enough, that with the backward tilt of the backrest, the FRONT/top main wire was even with the top of the tack strip. There were two of these loops holding everything in place.

When you install those loops, get the back rest spring as low as you can, to still allow room for the bottom cushion to slide it, otherwise the rear of you seat will have a boxey look.
