1917 My Express T, has a Syverson Cab. Company wooden body, there is a tag on the body that says:
"Syverson Cab. Co. #328"
Questions:
1) Is Syverson still in the Model T Business?
2) Is there anyway to tell what year the wooden body was made? All I know for sure is that the car was restored back in 1971.
I believe his son lives in Florida, and may be able to help you. He posts on here once in awhile.
Syverson built T bodies and replacement wood parts in the 1970's - 1980's.
Question:
3) Is Syverson considered a quality/ desirable body for a "T" to have?
Nowell
I will check check that tag number for you and tell you the year it was made.
My father Robert Syverson made Model T wood bodies up until 1980, and then I made them up into the mid 1990s. All in all close to 1000 bodies were made starting about 1955. Syverson Cabinet Co. is still in business and still does a bit of T stuff.
The company was first located in Des Plaines, Illinois and then moved out to Palatine, Illinois in the mid 1960s. Last year I sold that Palatine property and moved the shop up near Mundelein, Ill
My dad had moved down to Florida after he stopped working,
