Ford Australia is in for a bit of a rough ride in the next month or so, it appears that the buyer backlash to the plant closure here may have a negative effect on the dealers - with buyers choosing to walk past instead of walking in.
I'm sure that this will be a short term problem for Ford but - who knows.

This is exactly what happened to Mitsubishi when they announced the Lonsdale & Tonsley closures.

It would not appear so for the high performance Falcons. Orders are coming thick and fast to secure the last of their kind. A collectors item for the future.

There is some fantastic produce coming especially with RANGER that should bring buyers back into FORD dealers showrooms.

I was in at the local Ford dealer on Thursday, they were very busy handing out the official Ford word on the closure, sadly l couldn't wait for the young girl taking huge amount of time complaining about why her Auction purchased car wasn't covered by warranty " insurance write off vehicle". and so on, so l guess l will have a copy to post here on Monday.

Hi guys, in the 1920's ford sent out some company reps (Mr French I believe) to check out the dealers and stop the practice of multi car agents which lead to the factory and changes to the dealer structures. And what do we have now? the local agent in Bathurst sells Ford of course but there is THE GREAT WALL, KIA, Chrysler and their full range of vehicles so the sales man will push the buyer into what he can get the best bonus out of, with this attitude no wonder Ford are not selling, I went into the agent to buy a new 4 Wheel Drive and was pushed to a dodge ram, a Mitsubishi 4wd ute or the great wall if I could not afford the others, the more I said I wanted the ford the sales man would not listen so as I walked out he them said I could get a ranger if I was approved for the extra finance, A real dick head as I was paying cash so I left and got a new Nissan Patrol, I was prepared to fork out for a F250 and he would not help... Hi Bob, you say there are some fantastic models coming .eg..the ranger. Well unless they get a bet choice of body stiles all you have is a new work ute. The yuppie class and rich Chinese want a full body vehicles to take the whole family same as the patrol so we are back to the Territory, how many Chinese do you see in Land cruisers and not Fords? and they have the money.
