Hi Scott,

I don't have a measurement of the spring arch handy. You might check some of the following that also could cause your problem. With the car sitting level on the driveway or garage floor measure carefully from the floor to the bottom of the bracket on the underside of the fenders. If the right one is lower than the left that could be caused by a headlight/fender bracket bent down. Also check to see that the center bolt of the spring is sitting in the square hole in the frame. (The spring could have
slid slightly to one side). Also check the spring pad between the spring and frame channel. It could be broken or one side missing to allow the spring to settle on one side. Hope this helps and you don't have any sag or broken leafs in the spring. Good luck. I also have a 19 roadster.

Scott,

When I had that same problem it turned out being a few broken leaves in the spring. Have you really examined your spring closely for any breaks?

Should you check and find broken leaves Mark at the Model T Haven will ship them. Measure & make a phone call. Been there. Ect.

I believe the 26-27 front springs did not have as much of an arch. Can't tell you what it is right now but you might try searching on that to find out. I think it has been covered before. My first guess would be that your fender irons are bent.

I agree with Verne: I ran across this same problem with my friends 25 roadster. You probably have a 26-7 spring. It has 1" less arch than the 25 and older springs.

Look around for a earlier spring pack. There's a good chance someone close has a 26-7 car with and early spring that you could probably trade for.

I have specification sheets for Model T Ford springs if they are to be reset.

A 1909 - 1925 front spring should be set so the measurement between the centers of the bushes for the shackles is 31 7/16" to 31 1/2"

For 1926 - 1927 it is 31 1/4" to 31 3/8".

The actual height of the arch may vary depending on the amount of leaves.
